JOB SUMMARY
The Network Engineer will be primarily engaged in designing, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring network hardware and software to effectively integrate the network with the customer’s environment including servers, switches, and other networking devices. The Network Engineer will document, demonstrate and transfer knowledge regarding the setup and operation of each individual solution being delivered directly with the customer for future support needs. The Network Engineer will also provide the customer with written documentation including configurations, procedures, and diagrams of the solution. The Network Engineer will work with senior-level engineers to design and implement network solutions based on best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Troubleshoot networking issues, routing, speed and QoS issues.
- Resolve escalated issues & assigned tasks from internal resources.
- Install, configure, monitor, test, and maintain firewalls, access points, switches, and other network infrastructures.
- Support customers’ servers.
- Support Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, et.c.
- Specify system requirements and design solutions.
- Perform customer on-site visits to troubleshoot, repair, install networking equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot some Cloud infrastructure, such as Azure VM’s, Azure VPN Gateways, Entra ID Deployments, & Microsoft Intune.
- Provide input and evaluates new technology.
- Travel to customer sites for diagnosis and remediation of discovered issues
OTHER DUTIES
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field or 2+ years’ experience in related field.
- A+, Security+ and Network+ are required.
- Checkpoint CCSA, MCSE, AZ-104 and AZ-700 certifications are highly preferred.
- Palo Alto certification including PCNSA, PSNSE are a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience with networking techniques is required.
- Experience directly with Cisco and/or HP networking equipment is desired.
- Experience with SonicWall, Palo Alto, Ubiquiti networking equipment is preferred.
- Experience with networking including IP Addressing/Subnetting, VLANS, Port Aggregation, DNS, DHCP, RDP, LDAP, is required.
- Experience with virtualization techniques including VMware and Hyper-V is required.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot server-based software issues with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft Office 365 and hosted Microsoft Office 365, Hyper -V and VMWare, Microsoft PowerShell, major anti-virus solutions, and enterprise class backup solutions.
- Experience with DUO is preferred.
- Knowledge in troubleshooting and resolving workstation-based software issues with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016, Microsoft Online Services, including Office 365, and domain and workgroup environments.
- Ability to travel the Northeastern US as needed.
Pay Range: $65,000 – $70,000 based on experience.
