CHALLENGE
While responding to a structure fire, a body cam was knocked off an officer when an individual jumped into the arms of the officer from two floors up, thereby exposing the camera to extreme heat and causing some of its plastic housing to melt.
SOLUTION
The sheriff’s office had no issues whatsoever with retrieving the footage that was captured, and Brite and Getac were able to replace the melted unit.
RESULTS
The Getac body-worn camera replacement is now being utilized in the field, capturing footage of interactions with the community and providing unbiased perspective to any situation that may arise.
